Great Skin Begins with a Healthy LifestyleGreat Skin Begins with a Healthy Lifestyle

Adopt a healthy lifestyle and your skin will naturally begin to glow with good health. Your skin is actually an organ, like your heart and lungs. The skin is the biggest organ in your body, so any tips for a healthy lifestyle, such as eating right, exercising and maintaining a healthy weight for your heart health will also help you to attain a healthy complexion.

Probably the number one thing you can do for your skin is drink lots and lots of water, to keep your skin naturally hydrated and moist. Your diet should be a healthy one, with lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and fiber. Enjoy fish, and especially salmon. It is said to be great for your skin and contains omega-3 fatty acids for good health. Avoid saturated fats, fried foods, red meat and sugary snacks and drinks. Diet drinks are full of chemicals and you should avoid them.

Daily exercise will keep your skin toned, and blood pumping to nourish every cell in your body with oxygen. Perspiration is good for you! It is nature's way of ridding your body of waste products and cleansing your pores.

Cleanse your face morning and night with a gentle cleanser, suited to your skin type. No matter what anyone says, it is not good for your skin to sleep with your makeup on. Use an eye makeup remover if you need to, and make sure your face is clean before going to bed. Change your pillowcase often!

Always moisturize your skin morning and night. In the morning apply a great moisturizer lotion to freshly cleased skin, while it is still damp. Make sure to use one with SPF 25 or more, because one of the most aging and unhealthy things you can do to your skin is get too much tanning or a sunburn. If you are going to remain out in the sun you will have to reapply your sunscreen frequently.

At night, a night cream will help to restore your skin's moisture while you sleep. Make sure to use a night cream that will target whatever skin problem you are having, such as blemishes, dry skin, oily skin, or an anti-aging skin product to treat fine lines, or age spots. I think it's better to use one product that multi tasks, than to use multiple different products at once. If you do want to more than one product at a time, make sure they are the same brand name so that they are made to be used together.

Getting your 7 or 8 hours of sleep will also help your skin look well rested and bright, rather than tired and dull. A person who eats a healthy diet, exercises, gets enough sleep will have glow of good health and a great complexion as well as a healthy lifestyle.
